Welcome to the New Location of the National and State Parks, Forests, and Campgrounds. This featured areas is for conversation and Photographs in any of these areas. Please specify locations of Photos, as others may be interested in traveling to these Parks for Vacations.
Remember, its easier for you to go to Local Parks to capture photos, you can choose the best weather for your purpose to display the beauty of the location. Those on vacation have to take what they get, so they can enjoy your images, even if the weather was bad when they arrived. Share your best or even mediocre if you dont think they are that good for we want to SEE what the parks are like. That will enable us to make a decision about going to one or to another this year. Thanks for reading and have a Happy Forever in Photography, Bob Johnston Nadine and Bob Johnston - All Artwork __________________

Headed to Land between the lakes area (Aurora)in Kentucky next weekend for a wedding. We will be there 4 days. I know it's a picturesque area but are there any special spots to shoot? Thanks in advance for your help.

We'll be spending next week in Tahoe Nat'l Forest at French Meadows reservoir. The lake is fed by the Middle Fork of the American River at about 5200 feet elevation.
We've scouted the area and think there are a number of opportunities for river shots as well as flora. This one is remote enough you don't get a lot of day users, but you can get a medium size motorhome or trailer in if you can handle driving on 2 lane mountain roads. If you're traveling to Northern CA, most National Forest campgrounds are great to stay in. Clean, well maintained and midweek uncrowded. Many of the lakes are owned by power or water districts, and by late summer will be at low levels. Here's the wiki: "French Meadows Reservoir is a manmade lake 36 miles (58 km) northeast of Foresthill, CA on the Middle Fork of the American River. The reservoir is 2.9 miles (4.7 km) long, 0.6-mile (0.97 km) wide, with 7.3 miles (11.7 km) of shoreline. Tahoe National Forest manages the recreational facilities which include five campgrounds, two group campgrounds and two paved boat launch ramps. Activities at the lake include powerboating, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, picnicking and hiking. The reservoir is entirely within a wildlife refuge so no firearms, pellet guns or archery weapons are allowed. The elevation of the lake is 5,263 feet (1,604 m) and is nine miles (14 km) from the crest of the Sierra Nevada mountain range." I edited out all the links to make it more readable.
