My first hobby is flying, my second is photography. I'm lucky enough to have combined the two. I fly a machine called a Powered Parachute. There are still many people who have never heard of or seen one, but they're growing in popularity.

I've made a book through Blurb and it's selling to PPC Pilots, my friends and family, but I'm working on a bigger book now. This one will include text as well as photos, explaining what we do.

I know of a similar book where a guy took photos from his PPC, but mine will be completely different. I tried contacting him to find out about his sponsors, but he wasn't very responsive. I can understand the competition aspect. He has sponsors as big as Nikon, who I believe he works for.

My question is, have any of you ever been sponsored by Canon? I shoot exclusively with their equipment. If so, how did you go about getting it? Any help will be appreciated.

Here's a link to my first book, it's just photos. I'm also attaching a photo of the first page of my next book. BTW - Blurb wasn't perfect, they cut off half of my text in the intro, some of my photos were a little darker than originally, but for the price I was very happy. flynlow's Bookstore | Blurb

When you're writing your new book, run it by an editor of some sort. You change tenses in your writing. Bad form.

Have you tried contacting Canon directly? I'd give them a call to start...

I'm not sure what you mean by I change tenses. I had to go read it again, but I don't see it. I'm always talking in the present tense. The only mistake I see is where I switch from we to you at one point. I should have mentioned this is a rough draft.

I will give Canon a call, thanks for the info.

You're right: wrong word. You switch from first person plural to second person singular and back again. At least you caught it. Most people wouldn't have noticed.

You had me worried that I was missing something!! Thanks for pointing it out. I will have many people look at the book before it goes to print.

Due to the nature of the book, I will have instructors make sure I'm not giving any bad information. I will also need a disclaimer stating this is not to be used for training. The fun we have trying to avoid litigation!
