well, Geller is my last name and I think it should be included in the web address itself. I've seen many web address with the last name in it. I had a little longer list, but most people thought one of those two worked best. photography is longer than images, but more people seem to say it sounds more professional that way.

Trouble with geller is that it's too close to gallery, and will cause confusion if people try to remember your URL. I would try to find a URL that wouldn't confuse or frustrate the potential clients looking for your site. That doesn't provide a positive first impression, and as they say, you never have a second chance to make a first impression.

I would go with gellerphotography.com as its a front page for your studio - if you were limiting it to showing/selling images then gellerimages would be better.

I'd take all of them and have them all go to the same website. That way you minimise the chances of someone else taking one very similar to yours.

J Franco may have a point..maybe the web is not all its cracked up to be...but little can be gained by this young person from contemplating their naval or their place in the universe...he/she simply wants the best catchy name (his/her name) to advertise their studio and photography.
Take the lead from Flashlane, he's put himself out there..do likewise... and go for a logo/slogan that best expresses what you want and feel and that represents the best link you can muster to attract your potential customer base. However, point taken re locality, yellow pages etc. Brian. |

Because I haven't seen one red cent from a web presence. I don't bother with a "web storefront" anymore, and it hasn't impacted a thing. Also, my question was more specific to the OP, not the general audience, though they could ask themselves the same, if wanted.

I would choose www.gellerimages.com. Remember (as some have stated above) that search engine optimization is important and that a lot of the photography-geared web site templates don't do much in the way of it.
My business site (not photography ) is directly responsible for about half of my business. The rest is word of mouth. You can't beat the ROI of a website (if it's done properly) and I know most people would rather Google something than to pull out a phonebook. Most people would rather email you than call as well. you@yourbusinessname.com is a whole lot more professional than yourhighschoolnickname563@yahoo.com. |
