I have a potential client that would like to use photographs from our session in a book. I need suggestions on what and how to charge them. I know I am going to charge for the session, but am unsure of how to charge for the images. Should I charge them a licensing fee, or try to get some type of book commission? Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

Wow, that is a new one for me. But I would charge him a licensing fee. Book commission not so much. You might make him feel you are trying to step into his territory. But a nice fee for him to use your image should be fine. But find out 100% what for. A page in the book fine, advertising, will he use it for other sources. I would write up a form and have everything spelled out of what the image can be used for.
