Default Pricing advise!

Hi all!

First post, so be gentle with me - and seeing as Im a newbie here, allow me to buy you at virtual drink at the cyber bar!

OK - Heres where I'd appreciate a little guidance. Im a portrait photographer, based in London. I have been approached by an Italian investment bank, who have a stand at a trade fair next month, in Italy. (Asset management type stuff)

Basically, they want to use 2 of my images as part of their backdrop - God alone knows why, they are nice shots but have nothing at all to do with finance LOL

Anyhow, they dont need exclusive rights to the image, just permission to use them for a week at this exhibition. They expect around 500 visitors over the week.

I dont anticipate getting any further work from it. They will print the images themselves from the files I send, and they will be 100cm x 70cm. The images will be credited.

How much ought I to charge them for the use of my images?
Is there anything I should ask before I give my consent?

Many thanks for your help, opinions and advice!

Dan

Welcome Dan, I would think that 115 GBP would be fair. However, this figure is only based upon
what I would want to fetch.

Kevin - is that per image, or for the pair?

Any advance on £115? lol

I was thinking of £500 - £1000 for the pair, seeing as I wont get any future business out of it - Is that extracting the urine?

Yes, per image. £500 - £1000 would be a tidy sum if you can get them to go for it.
Consider starting higher and then negotiating down if the the colour in their face departs.

You may not have another application with these particular images, but you could be
at the start of business relationship with them. Consider that in your calculations.

Don't be greedy, but don't sell yourself short at the same time. I'm not privy to the
pricing in your market. So, take my advice with a grain of salt.

Dose not sound uncommon for London pricing
