Ok guys just got a Smug Pro account to help me sell my pics and let the customer view.
My questions are? What size do you upload as I would want the customer able to order any size so do I upload the Jpeg straight out of the camera? Also once a shoot is over what pp work do you do prior to uploading? Should the pic be totally ready for purchase before you upload? Thanks Bryan __________________

Bryan,
I have not used Smugmug but I have visited several sites run on Smugmug. The concerns I would have is that most of the Smugmug sites I have visited have no security to prevent theft. I would watermark the photos and make them low quality. People will steal them all you can do is take steps to protect the images. |

You can set the system to automatically watermark your images that are displayed, but the original file is hidden behind the scenes and can be printed if ordered. Bryan in response to your original question; and I hate to do it because it's a different forum, but I also want to make sure you get the best advice. For these types of questions, Smugmug have a good support system available on their own forum (Digital Grin Photography Forum - Powered by vBulletin). So if you go to DGrin and scroll down to the bottom, you'll see several forums useful for account holders. Regards, Peter |

I use smugmugs watermark feature. If they order prints there won't be a watermark on them. You can also disable right click.
I upload full quality jpgs, but mostly display medium - sometimes large depending on certain conditions. I do minor corrections to photos before I upload em. If they place an order, I have 7 days to do major retouching before smugmug makes the prints. Did you ask this on Smugmug's forums? |
