Take a look at Photography Shopping Cart | Photocart | Photographer Flash Websites - Pictures Pro
They have a tool called photo cart. Seems to work pretty well. __________________

I'm really not trying to hijack, but I have been following this thread with some curiosity. I have had a question in the back of my head for a few days now and no one else has asked it, so here goes.
When picking a website for selling images does a photographer consider which sites may be blocked by work firewalls or websense software? How many people may look at your work while sitting at their desk? How many potentional customers are willing to show their pictures off to co-workers if they could? Word of mouth sales, etc. The reason I am asking this is because I am a pro smugmug user and I only have 1 complaint with their services. Their name. I believe the word "smug" may be a key word in many work firewalls or web blocking software. All I do know is that I cannot access my account at work and several people have told me they cannot at their work as well. That being said, I love SmugMug and would recommend it. I continue to think of the potential money or even future customers I could get through word of mouth or by my current customers sharing their photos with other friends or co-workers. But, if my current customers cannot see my photos and cannot share these photos with their friends. Now I'm just ranting! For those who know, what sites typically make it through a work firewall or web blocking program and are a good site to host pictures and have prints made? |

ncmedix,
There is a possible workaround for your SmugMug site being seen at work. Since I work at home (my photography business), I have no experience with workplace firewalls, so I am not sure if this will make a difference or not. Perhaps if you provide access to your SmugMug site by having visitors pass through another site it will succeed where direct access doesn't ...? Here is what I mean, and a way to test it at your work place: My regular website for my photography is on my own domain (Peter Libby Photography). Once there, visitors can then click on the Galleries link and be taken to my SmugMug pages. Maybe this won't make a difference, or maybe it will. But you can try it at work by going to my site and, if you can get into that ok, then try clicking through to my galleries section on SmugMug... I hope this works, or that you find a solution. Peter (Scribe),
Thanks. You are right. I was able to look through your gallery at work with no problems. I will have to read a little more on how to set it up, but thank you. Have some Karma! I'm done hijacking......the OP is now PIC and will take you to your destination! Ok that was lame ![]() |

I'm new here, so hello all!
I discovered this thread whilst having a nose around the site - I was in a similar boat a while ago, and settled on The Image File to run my site. Not the cheapest, but service is second to none, and support is always on the end of the phone as needed. I created my website very swiftly with their provided designs and it is generating business for me well. Hope that helps Best wishes Chris __________________
