Lately I have had several requests for some additional enhancements to images when a customer makes a selection. (removing background items, creating a multi image montage in one image etc.)
At the present I don't have anything on my price list to cover this but I am thinking about adding a PhotoShop line item to my price list to cover these services. A note below the added PhotoShop line item would say something to the effect..... "Individual photo prices shown above provide normal image enhancement, basic retouching and cropping . Any additional requirements such as background object removal, montages, pencil sketch etc. will require the additional PhotoShop charge shown per image."How do you handle this, is there a better way? Do you charge a flat fee or an hourly fee? I know it is market dependent, but any thoughts on how much to charge for this service? __________________

I charge $15 per file, per minor adjustment. Major cloning jobs are $45/hour. These are usually files that another photographer has provided, a shoot and here are the jpegs kind of coverage. For my customers, they get the option to buy completed prints and nothing else - everything that I did to get to a finished print is included.

I'm not sure what line of photography you do, so this might not be all that helpful.....
I do weddings, and correct and retouch EVERY file delivered to the bride as part of my services. (Normally 800 plus photographs) Anyhoo, it's worked massively for us as a marketing tool. But the real reason, is that I just can't show a client something I know can be better..... |
