Ok, I am fed up with my Web Designer. I have been trying to get a hold of her for two month again. She is always like that and when I finally get a hold of her she sais she didnt get my emails. Bullcrap.

Anyway, I want to switch. What is a good Hosting Company? I thought I remembered something about Blue Domain, but there is nothing at www.bluedomain.com or www.bluedomaine.com amd I misspelling something? Or do I remember it wrong?

Any others out there that are very good?

I had the link but can't find it now. From what I was reading some folks were saying OK things but others were saying that their customer service is bad.

I have no direct experience with them. I am just saying what I read while looking for website templates.

web designers and web hosts are 2 different things one hosts the website the other makes the site for you

being fed up with your webmaster (designer) should not make you want to switch hosts?

Unless they are running this too. I know more than a few "web designers" that simply resell basic 1&1 basic packages as their own service.

Lycos.Com has free email & a free website program - whcih I'm very happy with - SoCal Model

They have a number of 'templates' you can choose from - and you just plug in your copy.

Build your own site - then find a "webdesigner" to enchance it - and a webhost to provide your site a home.

But this way you can do it for 'free', change it a will, and you don't need to know 'HTLM'.

Lycos address for website: Free Website Hosting - Tripod free website templates to make your own free website

I use yahoo and dreamweaver to build with, they do have their own templates. I am paying about 11 bucks a month. I have been using them for about a year now, no issues.

I'm using yahoo and paying $11/mo for their service with no problems so far...

However, my problem is that I want to create a custom gallery using something running PHP/MySQL so that management of my image gallery (1500 images) becomes something I can drive my html pages using a database. Otherwise gallery management for me is very very tedious.

Any suggestions for such implementations?

I also use yahoo for my website and find them to be great.

In relation to PHP and MySQL, they are both possible and included within the services available.

For an initial rundown, check the advanced design options from this page:

Yahoo! Web Hosting: Reliable and Secure Web Site Hosting

That will give you a start.

Regards,

Peter

I am using the 'jack' template from bludomain. I like the template but the customer service at bludomain leaves a lot to be desired. Template was extremely buggy and it was like pulling teeth to get anything fixed. I am going live with my site on January 2 and hope it will turn out to be a worthwhile endeavor.

If I had the money I would have gone with livebooks.com - awesome designs and they don't have that cookie cutter feel.

Thanks for all the recommendations, I will look at them all.
I am a bit apprehensive about switching because I am seriously stupid when it come to html and after driving my designer crazy I finally have it down how to change my own text and upload photos and host my slideshows. I am worried to start all that over.
