I suspect the prices have increased just a bit and the preschool worker is even more shocked.

Call it what you will, the common terms are "kick-back", "participation", or "rebate" its a percentage of sales paid back to the school or organization for the privilege of getting the business. The big boys in school photography started this whole mess. They used a "commission" basis to win jobs and keep smaller volume photographers from being able to break into the market. Now days every sport league, venue and hosting organization wants a piece of the pie.

I am in Birmingham, Alabama and I think the prices look too cheap. Too much product for too little money. But if their work stinks, the price was too much.
