So let me start this out I have no experience doing this. Ok i've been using dreamweaver cs3 and have an index page up. SFJPhotography.com. I'm not really happy with the way it looks but hey at least that part works. My problem right now is that I can't get the links to work. I was following a tutorial on thesitewizard.com and did what was stated yet they don't work. I'm feeling kind of daunted as I was planning on using lightroom galleries in my portfolio section using pics as links. Which i've heard isn't the easiest thing to do. And hear I am, can't get a hyperlink to work. Doe's anyone here have any advice as to haow I can fix this? I have the links named ex.
Link: aboutus.html and the page named aboutus.html. I'm lost please help me find my way!! __________________

Psst, you didn't say which tut you were using from the wizard.
I don't have dreamweaver, but I can tell you a proper link doesn't look like "linkto: Location" Can't you highlight the text in Dreamweaver and then click on a link generator? If you look on the posts you create here, it looks like a globe with a paper clip below it. You type in the URL of the place to link to. In your case, if the web page you are linking to is in the same location as your home page your link would like "aboutus.html" or "http://sfjphotography.com/aboutus.html" Either should work. So change "linkto: aboutus.html" to "aboutus.html" and let us know if that works. |

I'm guessing you're reading this tutorial: Dreamweaver Tutorial: How to Add Links, Change Fonts and Change Colour in Dreamweaver CS3 (Part 3) (thesitewizard.com)
It says: Quote:
At least that's what I assume, having very little knowledge of Dreamweaver myself. (But lots of knowledge about building websites.) I liken Dreamweaver and web development to a calculator and maths. If you don't care to learn the underlying rules of math first, you'll never know if what the calculator is telling you is right or not. HTML doesn't take more than a few days to grasp and there are scores of sites to help you along like this one - w3schools.com HTML Tutorial |
