In case anybody is interested, there is "new" place for "professionals" to place images to sell. It is called PhotoBiz ( http://www.photobiz.com/ ), and it is an "Online Proofing Solution for Photographers". This is some verbag from their site:
The photos you take for an event can be hosted, viewed and ordered online by using our online proofing service. You can upload: weddings, portraits, head shots, sports events, quinces, bar mitzvahs, school photography, etc. There are just 3 easy steps to get started: Setup your account (instantly) Upload your photos Start selling online I checked the pricing at PhotoBiz, and it seems pretty expensive ($100 setup and starting at $25 per month). I find my SmugMug account much cheaper ($100/yr). If you want a Professional SmugMug account, you can use the link below to save $5. http://www.smugmug.com/?referrer=L5xvhn5DEtHqs __________________

I am a danish travel photographer with 34.000 (140 GIG) images ready to upload, but cant find the ideal program for fully automatised online sales, with a rightmanaged pricelist calculator. Any suggestions? I se Lunar Pages offer terabytes of dedicated server space for extreemely low prices - is there a catch to this?
Can keywords applied with ACDsee Pro 2 in IPTC be exported and searched on? How? Thank you over there. |

I also use Smugmug, but find the on line purchasing system for customers to confusing/ complicated.
I personally don't think it is overly complicated, but if your not computer savvy or used to purchasing stuff on line I think it is way to confusing. I had several people try to purchase a photo off my site, and they all got confused on what they were doing/ getting. I also had customers screw up there order and Smug mug had to refund them money ect.. The cropping is also always an issue that the average Joe won't understand. Just my experience however Best, Jay |

It is very good chance to offer our photos, but Mr. Pickles, isn't there any cheaper place than to pay 100U$ in advance? For example, maybe better alternative for me should be, the agency should share some quantity of percents by every sold photo?
