Default Proximity beacon for marketing

I've literally lost sleep over this one...

I think I just found an amazing way to reach a lot of people, it's low cost, and you don't have to say a word. Oh, you can change the message as well.

It's called a "proximity beacon" and is about the size of a walnut. It could be in your car, pocket, or wherever. Set up a message with a link to a video or FB page, etc, and it goes to work transmitting your message to people's android phones within 300ft of the beacon.

If you do seniors, and are on the sidelines of a game with this in your pocket, you are advertising to kids and parents all around you.

Photographing a wedding? Have a beacon announce the link to the wedding photos, and when they'll be posted. Potential is amazing.

Always on. Battery lasts a couple years!

very interesting indeed... at football game

... and some subsequent searches reveal the different opinions about it's application and use.
There seem to be some good arguments, both pro and con... needs some fleshing out on my part, but certainly worth a look.

Yeah, that's why I asked, the site doesn't give any info.
It looks like you have to click "I want to be a customer " to get any info.
Thanks for giving me the info tho.

LOL, just after they release it, they'll come out with a paid app to block it.

If you watch the video, it has the pricing there.

Yeah, didn't watch the video.
I prefer the Amazon business model where they just have the price listed right there next to the product.

I'm curious to see your results. I wonder, at a small school football game, how many would have the app to read the broadcast (or whatever you call it).

It sounds nifty, but depends on how popular the app is that the customer would use.
