Rights Managed vs Royalty Free

What are your views on these? I am starting up an online library of African Images and would like to hear your thoughts. Do any of you submit Royalty Free images? Thanks.

All depends on how unique your imagery is. Generally, the really unique shots should be RM so that you can offer rights protection should a large client want that protection. However, if the images are fairly routine, they may sell better as RF.

Go to a large site that supplies both models and see what they deem RF vs RM. Have a look on the Getty or Corbis site and that should give you a better idea.
