fictitious business name
I own a video company (Valley Video Production) along with my photography company (which is currently my name Kevin Shulman Photography). I am thinking about renaming it to something else. I know in order to open a checking account for the new name, I'll have to go through the fictitious business name process again, like I did when I started my video co. Do I also need to get another business license for the photo business since it has a different name?

I don't know, what does the government agency that regulates businesses and corporations in your location tell you. It is different from state to state and country to country.

I too, have a video production facility and own a custom transportation business.
I believe you'll only need a new DBA if you change a business name. If nothing is being changed, you don't need the new DBA. A workaround would be to have clients make checks out to your exisiting business name that isn't being changed. __________________
