printed portfolio for prospective wedding clients

i've shot a dozen or so weddings, and never before have i been asked for a printed portfolio as i put allot of effort into the online promotion of my work and website.

the last two clients in a row, contacted me through my website and whe we met for the preliminary hand-shaking and head noding, i was aksed for a printed portfolio! "didnt you see the website you contacted me from?"

what do you use as a printed portfolio.. if i'm going to waste my time doing this i'm going to do it well... so am considering a photobook with all the images from an entire wedding (or two) to show what tthey are likely to get.

problem is, i'm changing and advancig quickly, and like to keep updating it with the best. and this is why a printed one seems like a waste of money.

FYI, i still got the one wedding, despite the lack of printed stuff.. and the other is still thinking.

You can get a portfolio with clear sleeves that you can put prints in, so that you can swap in new prints inexpensively as you shoot newer and better work. I keep a book with twenty of latest and greatest that I can replace the pages in as one portfolio.

If I was doing weddings, I would also have a number of sample wedding albums available; they would be the best ones that I'd done, and I would replace them as necessary as I improved.
