Tried the 24-70 f/2.8, but sold it and retained the 28-70 f/2.8 AF-S.
Added Nikon 105 f/2.8 AF-S Micro.

Three years ago, if you'd have told me that Nikon was going to bring out a camera to topple Canon for sports, PJ, or event work... I'd have probably scrunched up my face and said, "Not likely given their releases lately..."

I am happy to say that I stand corrected.

I shoot quite a bit of concert work and I do other event / wedding work periodically as jobs come up. Most of the folks I shoot for are fine with digital images that exceed 8 megapixels (at given dpi), generally...

So let's go ahead and skip the formalities. The specs are available all over the place so you don't need to know that the camera is a 12 megapixel body with a Sony sensor ... yada yada..

You want to know whether or not you should own this camera and why...

What's the easiest way to put this... IMO, with this body out there, there is no reason to even think about a used D2x if you're upgrading from a D100, D200 or perhaps even a D2x...

I've gone ahead and ordered the new 24-70 f/2.8 G AF-S Nikon lens. This lens will replace my Nikon 28-70 f/2.8 AF-S that I've had for a while and was my absolutely "go to" lens when I absolutely have to have the best image quality.
