Roxio Creator 2010: Software to avoid
Posted 09-27-2009 at 11:57 AM by JDArt
Every once in a while, I come across a software application that is so slow, slow buggy, so poorly executed, and such a pain to remove that I have to write it up. Roxio Creator 2010 is such an application. Do yourself a huge favor: avoid this piece of crap at all costs.
I have now wasted too much time trying to get it to work--the Advanced Video Editing component would not even start on Windows 7--and hope that my efforts here prevent you from doing the same.
This software is the very definition of bloatware. As with most bloatware, it includes many individual components, and there seems to be no way during installation to determine which components you want installed and which you would rather do without.
This program will clutter up your system, slow it down, and then compliment you by causing system lockups. I installed it on a top-of-the-line Core 2 Duo system with 4 gigs of RAM. It felt pathetically slow.
Uninstallation leaves behind directories on your hard drive and multiple entries in the registry.
HORRIBLE!
