Most digital cameras come with presets for taking pictures in specific lighting conditions – such as night, portrait, landscape, and macro. Use the presets when lighting conditions are difficult. The night preset optimises your camera for low-light shooting, landscape for distance, and macro for close-up photography. Portrait mode provides just enough depth of field for people, while making backgrounds slightly blurry.
