Default B&W or Colour?

I was going to post this in the Still Water assignment, but would really like to get some feedback on the B&W conversion. The image is of a living coral reef in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park aquarium.
I really wanted to show the light and texture in the image. Which is better, the B&W or the color one (edited by Rense: original link was not working):

I like the colored one better: is more at 'live'.

I would go with the color version due to the subject matter. Too much detail is lost in the B&W IMO.

While I prefer the colour version as something to look at, I think the BW version achieves your stated aim in a better way.

Thanks for the all comments and feedback, I think you're right that the colour does give more life to the coral. But I think the balnk white shows more of the light and texture.

My vote is split - evenly - between two for the above reasons.
