Thanks Norm. The main difficulty was to get different tones for the leaves and the stonework. I found this in a first quick and dirty attempt using the lightness channel in lab colour - too grey. The posted image was done in the channel mixer by pushing the green channel way up and dragging red and blue well into the negative area.

I like the conversion and the way the light comes through the canopy.

As an image, it's relaxing, but there is just an element missing for me. It's fairly static and maybe needs someone or something on the stairs or walking past the gate on the outside. That would create much more interest and a hold attention longer (at least for me).

Of course, I'm just a GWC, so don't take my say as anything special.
