The photo is cool. The subject is something I preach against. I have been a tattoo artist 9 years. I have 35,000 procedures in my state licenced studio, and I cannot for the life of me understand why someone would want full coverage on a prominent place on his/her body at such a young age.
It is like ordering Coke at the drive thru. When the voice asks you what size, you say forty million gallons, that is all I am ever going to drink ever again for the rest of my life. Young people make few good life-long choices, if they ever do make any good choices at that age, and to lead people into tattoo coverage to that degree, in that time of their lives, borders on kidnapping. You are helping them to forfeit many things in their life and place them on avenues they would otherwise never go down. People with tattoos of that magnitude end up doing more drugs, doing more crime, and offering less in a constructive way to society. I have never done a sleeve, never done a back piece and never will. The photograph looks very cool, and your photography talents have come through in this subject, but the tattoo itself is not a thing to take pride in, it is one more youthful desecration advanced towards a one way journey through life. I hope that young man puts the brakes on before it is too late. What employer looks for tattoos at a job interview and hopes to find them on the applicants? What blood bank looks for tattoos and hopes to find them on blood donors? What mother looks for tattoos on her children and hopes to find them when they come home from college? What positive aspect does any tattoo of that magnitude add to a persons life? The honest answer to these questions, is none. My generation (I am 52) is about to hand off our world to the next generation. If the next generation uses the same brain to make life long decisions for society that they use on their personal life long decisions, our nation, and the nations of the world will soon see their dreams crumble, as the torch is being passed to people with mental issues so deep, the problems of their minds have boiled out upon their skin in eruptions no mentor would ever understand. A banker came into my studio very perplexed. He saw my add for tattoo removal and wanted to talk about the options available. Seems he was grooming a new hire that worked in the mail room. This was no small company, and unbenonsed to this mail room clerk, he was being groomed for something way beyond the mail room. All the plans for this young man went out the window just because he was foolish and purchased a one way trip down stupid road and put a very noticeable tattoo on his body. The banker was as shocked as if his own son joined the KKK. I apologized to him (I did not do the tattoo, but my industry did, and I apologize for this arm piece also. My industry is very foolish and is running the future lives of millions of young people every year. When you purchase perfume, do you spray the whole bottle on yourself? When you purchase lipstick, you use the whole tube at once? Small tattoos done in discrete areas of the body can add to a persons life if done correctly. Tattoos done like what you have shown, destroy lives. Lives of the person wearing them, and the people that love him. Off my soap box now. |

You know, I should probably just let this go...but, you've just offended me and everyone I know...AGAIN. I was just reading your post about the homeless people outside your shop, then came across this novel about how people with large tattoos are scum. You've completely gone off your rocker...
Being a tattoo artist, if that's what you truly are, you should know that most people with tattoos are not scum and are not ruined humans...regardless of the size of the tattoo(s). I have large tattoos...and I'm 22...and you know what, my parents love me, my friends love me, my other half loves me. I've never smoked, drank, or done any sort of drug in my life...but, because I have big tattoo's...I ought to be, right? I also must start committing crimes...because, big tattoos make me more apt to do horrible things. You know, you may want to group all my friends who are the same as me, as well as my other half, together...we're all just downright rotten people for being tattooed with big tattoos...for being expressive. God forbid. All of my tattooed friends have well paying jobs...in fact, one of them has two full sleeves...and he has a 9 to 5 desk job and is doing quite well for himself and his family. I have a regular job, all my friends have regular jobs. Tattoos in this day and age, don't keep you from getting respectable jobs. Some places, maybe...but not all places. That's an old fashioned belief. You're entire post is stereotypical and offensive. As far as the photo, I think it's great. I really like the old traditional style tattoos, but they're not for me. I was juggling the idea of keeping the eyes black/white, but I think their color ties in with the tattoo very well. |

Interesting pic Tiffany. I like it.
I learned a long time ago not to judge a book by it's cover Tiffany. Too bad some other can't learn that lesson as well. |

I agree with you both...my jaw dropped straight to the ground when i read this mans post on my photograph. the most stero typical words i have ever read..how can someone be so hateful..especially being a "tattoo artist"..like he says he is..if he was..he wouldnt be so quick to judge..i have a friend who is a VERY successfull tattoo artist in the heart of san diego and has worked his way to the top and has earn many many of lives luxuries all because he worked hard for them. My identical twin sister worked her way to managing an office of a popular computer software company...and she has lots of tattoos and piercings. and yes people shouldnt judge a book by its cover..it is very wrong...i was very angry and upset when i read that mans post. anyway...yeah i was thinking about leaving the eyes black and white but i thought heck why not..make em color. im glad you guys liked this photo.

Hi folks,
In this board, we talk about the quality of photo's and preferably not about questions like raised in the posts above. I can see this thread going downhill, so it will be closed. __________________
