What an excellent, well-crafted and well-seen image! This area, along with Carmel are my favorite parts of California, and your photos remind me why. It feels to me as if this might be a better image had you stood more to the right and not framed the cross dead center. (But that's just my opinion. ;o)

I do like the way you captured the 'mark of Zorro' shadow.

Thanks so much for the kind words - I agree with you about this part of the coast, it took me nine years of planning to move up here from the LA area about six years ago. The only way I'm leaving is feet first

Bob,

I certainly agree with your comment about centering, it's something that I rarely do with the exception of some water reflections. I shot four other frames from different angles, but in the end the pure symmetry of this framing appealed to more than "conventional" composition rules.
