Wow, Jay, this is excellent. A very unique vantage point and a very peaceful, serene view of the city against the the busy, bustling downtown (Manhattan?) as a backdrop in the distance.

Looked at this in the Architecture forum and wondered whether you had looked at it in B&W.
Much stronger image with conversion. Well done. |

Jay, it is your sense of composition that makes your shots so good. You work to find the spot that will bring out the most in your images. Nice work.

I like the B&W version better.
The color version didn't look like your normal style. Something about the color wasn't quite your usual. But this is much stronger in B&W. Regards, Peter |

Jay the more i look at this the more i'm still not sure, i'm probably the only one that sounds negative.
Is this a convert from an HDR edit.....cause if so then it's the brightness at the bottom of the hill thats gives me the negative thoughts, especially when it seems to go all the way up into the sky....looks like a large halo....sorry me old mucka.... |

Thanks for all the comments and feedback
![]() Karl, No worries at all!! I appreciate the honest critique, and I agree with you that it looks like a large Halo. It's not an HDR, but the dodge and burn work I did kind of gave it that look. I also think the calm water near the shoreline added to the brightness as it reflected the sky much more than the ruff water. I also see it's a bit brighter on the top by the bridge, but I believe the fog/ haze was the cause of that. In any event I think the BW version is much better and I just ordered a print so I'm hoping it looks good on paper Thanks again everybody, Jay __________________
