Default Infrared with Split Toning

Upon familiarizing myself with the Adobe Lightroom Beta 4, I've been opened up to the world of Split Toning. I don't know if it is the same thing as duo tones, but as it's close, I'm posting here. If anyone has clarification, I'm open to hearing it.

This is a recent shot from Dead Horse Point State Park, near Moab, Utah.

I gave it an orange/yellow cast in the highlights and red in the 3/4 tones.

Thoughts?

My brain is still confused about the scaling, I know the layers in the hill at the bottom-left happen in ages. But having the dead tree next to it with the casting shadows played a lot of visual tricks on me.. One thing I wish you could adjust, is the low contrast between the tip of the tree and the background.

Well done

Good point about the scaling, I've been there so much that the scaling is automatic for me. Perhaps I'll open up my crop next time, I took a LOT out from the left and a bit from the top.

Thanks for the advise and comment. I'll also look into the local contrast too.

I like the details and think the tree needs a bit more to bring it out, imho, thanks
