First attempt at really adjusting for b&w and not just clicking b&w conversion. Adjusted colors manually in the b&w conversion and reduced brightness and contrast a bit as well.
C&C appreciated thanks. __________________

Nice image Jesse. I would consider cropping a little off the top to remove the distractingly bright area containing the car so as to better draw attention to your subject.

Putting myself in the image beside the artist, I see an image OOZING IN PERSONALITY. My thought follows Kelly's, but also I would squat or sit or...........to bring myself to the player's level and really TRY TO BRING OUT HIS PERSONALITY FROM HIS FACE and or FINGERS ALONE. I WONDER if a SOFTER LIGHT LEVEL would help REALLY BRING OUT PERSONALITY with more TEXTURE and DETAIL in his SKIN and CLOTHES?
if you STAND/SIT BACK A PACE or TWO, and PUT YOURSELF IN ANY IMAGE, you WILL SEE -VERY CLEARLY - if ANY CHANGES NEED TO BE MADE - AND WHERE. LET THE IMAGE DO THE TALKING - NOT YOU - as to WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. This is how some artists work - SLOW and METHODICAL - A STROKE HERE - STUDY THE RESULT FOR A WHILE - A STROKE or TWO THERE - STUDY THE RESULT. This is done until they feel THE IMAGE IS FINISHED. My thanks for helping me to do MORE THINKING next time I come across a scene like this. MAJOR GALLERIES in Europe are a BLESSING for HELPING ARTISTS - IN ANY MEDIUM - INCLUDING CAMS . UNDERSTAND COMPOSITION Many have their collections on line for view and study. |

Here's the 2nd try. Definately like it better without the distraction of that vehicle.
Thanks Kelly. Thanks Norm. I did the crop and tried adjusting it differently but I guess my eyes can't get the grasp for black and white so I will keep trying. |

As I stand in front of him this second time - listening to him - I have A STRONGER SENSE of PERSONALITY COMING FROM HIM. He is TELLING ME - the ARTIST DID A MUCH BETTER JOB on this.
