Default Giddyup! Horses!!

OK, I mess around a lot in Photoshop (can you tell?) and I was trying to find a way to convert b/w that's used for "softer" images, like animals and portraits. Let me know what you think or should I start over?

(btw, those big animals scares me a bit, but they look nice from afar and with the Canon 80-200/2.8 L )

I do not know what others may think, but I like the overall look. It may be grayish as some would say but I think it works.

I think shades of grey is good - you don't need drama in every shot. These look like nice tones to me.

I think that these are wonderful for exactly that reason - the smooth tonal range! I think that many of us are tempted to bump the contrast hard for effect, but that often ruins the image.

Nice conversion work!

Thank you guys!! Yes Marc, I did a more rough version of the horse and the birds photo, but it didn't give the sense of "curiosity" as I imagine the horse feels with the bird looking at it.

I think I'll have to do two versions of b/w, some with more contrast and umph and others more soft and gentle, like the subjects they portray. Hard contrast seem to work best with hard materials such as wood, stone, metal, etc. While I want the more softer conversion for people and animals.
