Sorting a few more shots from earlier this year...
Photo #1 This particular bird is a good specimen of a healthy mature Bald Eagle... clean bright white feathers, clear bright eyes, a smoothly polished beak and a striking pose. Looking at the original large photo files, the natural beauty of this wild Bald Eagle is evident. Photo #2 What's up? If this were a multiple choice question asking why is the bird looking up, which answer would you select? A: The bird is stretching to relieve a sore, stiff neck. B: The Eagle is gargling mouthwash to rid itself of Eagle morning breath. C: It is thinking... "It's a bird. It's a plane. No it is Superman!" D: It is laughing uproariously at a funny joke. E: It is gawking at and talking at another Bald Eagle flying past directly overhead. Photo #3 This is just a crop from photo #2. I wanted to show a slightly larger view of the open mouth so that people with a curiosity can get a better look at the unique structure of the roof of a Bald Eagle's mouth. The pose with the head pointed up and the mouth wide open is not one that I see posted by other photographers. Thanks for looking ( Oh by the way the correct multiple choice answer was "E" ) Ioway Just a final thought. Based on my limited experience, people don't get close-ups of wild Bald Eagles by chasing them. People will not be able to sneak up on a wild Bald Eagle. The close-ups I manage to get are a result of the Bald Eagles letting me get relatively close when they do not feel pressured. __________________

An "image" precedes "imagination" in the dictionary but not in the art of photography. Hidden inside "imagination" is the root word magi (yes as in the three wise men of the nativity story). The magi were considered to be wise men or magicians. Before you snap that next photo, explore your imagination and you will capture more memorable "magi"cal moments in your photography....
