Default Small Hawk

To me he looks like a red shoulder hawk ,others think its a young cooper hawk. This bird flew into my backyard yesterday and sit there about 10 minutes.these pictures were taken thru the kitchen window. As soon as I open the back door he was gone.

I would have to agree thats a Coopers Hawk. I would say an adult female actually. I dont know about the Texas-version of a Red Shoulder, but I believe, in general, they are a lot darker red than the Coopers or the Red Tail. No expert here ..LOL.. but I do love the raptors. I've been focusing on the Red Tails myself ... they are fast & elusive .

Beautiful bird & a great shot!

Ciao,
Kelli

I have to say these look like nice shots but a bit pixelated.
