Default Chaffinch

Trying to see if posting from Flickr instead of Photobucket is any better. The thing I hate about Flickr is it resizes my 1200px images to 1024 which completely messes up the sharpening. On the other hand, if I upload the image at 1600px to Flickr it isn't resized as that is one of the standard sizes used there, but it is resized by Photocamel with the option to view the original size. Not sure if that's any better or if it's better sticking with photobucket for hosting and linking to there. Anyone got a solution to my quandary, or even an opinion?

Great shot Kevin. I use photobucket & quite happy with that. Never used Flicker, so cannot make a comparison.

Hi Kevin, I upload to Flickr at 1200 and never have a problem buddy.

Great shot by the way.

Thanks Gautam. I've been having problems with Photobucket for a few months now. They've lost an Album, I've had problems uploading images to my account, I title the images only to have the information lost again next time I log on. Also it doesn't read the exif data meaning I have to reenter the description and the title when I've already labeled the images in Lightroom.

Thanks Mark. If you look at the options to download an image the large image is 1024 even when I upload at 1200. It will only display the image in Flickr as 1024. I can download the original which is 1200. This means that my image has been resized for displaying in Flickr which doesn't do my images justice.
If I upload to Flickr at 1600 then the large size is now 1600 and it displays how I intended it to look, but when I link to the image as in this post, you have to click the top of the image to display it at the correct size. You can see the difference in the image quality between the max size that photocamel allows, namely 1200, and the size I processed for, namely 1600, that I uploaded to Flickr. I hope this explains my frustration.

I don't use either so I can't speak from experience. I will say the 1600x1066 is very nice, however the camel sized is still very good.
