Hi Lauren. That's a Black-Crowned Night Heron. Nice job in difficult lighting conditions. You maintained focus on the eye, which can be difficult.

I grew up outside NYC and LOVE the Bronx Zoo. I haven't been there in years, though.

I do good to know a bird from a bullfrog, but that doesn't keep me from admiring pictures of them, even if I don't know what their names are. These are great and you've done a fine job in what appears to be a challenging light.
