Hi to all
Yesterday's visit to my favorite farm provided the following results. No colourful birds are seen here this time of the year. Grey Shrike Isabelline Wheatear (the same bird I photographed in my last visit to the farm, the bird flew and landed next to me) Fufous-tailed Scrub Robin (just a little blurry on the beak) Male & Female Namaqua Dove, they spend the summer here. (Namaqua is a region in South African) Male & Female Black-crowned Sparrow Lark Juvenile Bird not too sure what it is, maybe a Hoppoe Lark Hoopoe Lark _S0F9187_resize.jpg _S0F9225_resize.jpg _S0F9212_resize.jpg _S0F9105e_resize.jpg _S0F9166e_resize.jpg _S0F9174e_resize.jpg __________________

Excellent series John. Only the 2nd shot has the exif but I was surprised at 1/100s F8.0 at 1000mm. Surely the heat will cause some distortion at this focal length and it would be better to get a faster shutter speed, or am I wrong?

Hi Gautam Thanks
Hi Kevin, something has gone wrong, I have recently upgraded to PS Elements 10 I need to check why most of my EXIF info is missing. But in fact the photos I posted did have some file info. I have just posted a couple on my webpage to test. Please check the link _S0F9013ed_resize.jpg photo - John Thompson photos at pbase.com When editing the shot of the wheatear I didnt apply a curves adjustment and as you say some info is still there. Strange. When I check the file info on Canon DPP the full EXIF info is given BTW I normally shoot at 1/1500 sec plus. The Wheatear landed near to me when I was driving through some trees, it was dark, Has I had already photographed the same bird last week I took a couple of quick snap shots with the camera setting I had used outside in the bright sunlight. |

The perky tailed scrub robin is my favorite of this well captured bunch. Reason is because of it's perky tail!

Your shots are always tack sharp with great color rendition. I don't get over here often, but enjoy the shots when I do. Very nice work John
