Here is a duck, I am unsure of the Id. I think is a young mallard but I am not sure.

Yes definitely a female Mallard, beautiful shot. Personally I probably would have cropped about 1/2 inch or so more off the top.

I think it is definitely a female mallard. The bar through the eye is characteristic, while the mottled duck as I remember does not have the bar through the eye.

I like the photo just the way it is. It show the environment well.
