Default A hummer through the window
I have a humming bird feeder right outside the window of my home office. Traffic seems to pick up toward sunset. I have a couple of new Einsteins, so I've been looking for excuses to plug them in.

When shooting feeder birds I generally open the window and make a blind, but I was lazy tonight and just setup with the window closed.

Einstein, action mode, 8.5" reflector and 30 degree grid. I had a black panel behind me and the light so I would not pick up the room in the reflection on the glass. Still picked up some spill from the flash against the black.

Nikon 80-200 f/2.8 lens plus extension tube on a D300s.

Might try a larger modifier next time. I think all the traffic I saw was from a single female. She has a beauty mark (first shot)

Clean shots with excellent detail. You have nailed the exposure. Dont like the clipped wings or invisible beak in the first shot.

Excellent shots. Really like the last two which are well worth some K. I can see the beak on my monitor in the 1st shot but don't like the cut off wings. The 2nd shot is spoilt by the feeder

The first shot is no good, but it shows her "beauty mark" - the single red feather on her throat. That's the only reason I put up the first pic.
