Surprise, surprise; I didn't know how to set the apature in manual mode! Photos cropped and levels adjusted. 0644 .jpg 0707 .jpg 0798 .jpg __________________

I like your shots!!!!
There is no right way or wrong way......just your way.....and it is fine. There are a lot of techniques you can learn to do it differently. I learned to set up on a tripod as close as I can get ( a couple hundered feet) Using a wide lens 28mm or so without telephoto and start shooting at f8.0 if i have it and leave open for 2 or 4 seconds. Sometimes I use the HAT trick to open the stutter and leave it open for several minutes and cover the lense with a hat until more fireworks are shot into the air and wait for the next shot with the lens covered and flip the hat off again. This gives a lot of fireworks in one shot without having to combine several shots which is doable also. Enjoy and take lots of them and share I have some fireworks here if you would like to see them. http://www.pbase.com/rodo Ray Rochelle |

The spheres are cool.
I wish I was geeky enough to name that phenomenon, aberration, behavior... whatever. Pretty interesting effect regardless. Thanks. |
