This is a beautiful photo, PhotoMom. . . .!!
I love how changing the background brings out the model. . . but I think that changing the skin tones is defeating to the photo as you captured it just right in the first place. . . job well done __________________

The same principle holds true as artists, in that sometimes you need to pull away from over-working some area, . . because working further "muddies-up" the picture. I still advocate getting the correct shot in the first place! |

Mojo, looks ok, try duplicating the layer, apply your skin smoothening on to that layer and dial back the opacity to the magic 25-30% and see if you like it better. Her skin look way too smooth, me want to see more pores, etc. Egads, that's what happens when a fellow from the west jumps the gun and don't read that you did this with Portrait Professional...lol. That's one gripe I have with that proggy, it is obvious something has been done.

I've not got an example here but thought I'd add Noise Ninja is a really quick and easy way to smooth out skin while retaining sharpness. I usually copy to another layer run noise ninja then use a softish brush (with the opacity turned down in delicate transition areas) to remove parts of the smoothed layer that don't need it. I should be using a layer mask but I rarely do.
