The sculptor knew about the musculature and anatomy of a horse, right down to that vein which runs under the belly.

At this point I would like to thank all who have visited this thread and especially all who have left kind comments.

This is the end of the images of Batalha; next will come images of Alcobaça. However, there will be a slight delay because I first have to get sufficiently fit to do a (long postponed) shoot. The photos that I already have are not really good enough for posting.

Bear with me and I look forward to seeing you again
