Default Celestial Observatory

This structure is called Star Tower. It is a 50-foot interactive spiral stone tower with 3,000 fiber optic lights. It is comprised of 12,500 square feet of hand-stacked Corona stone, rusted steel panels, a circular observation deck, and a rusted steel sail. It especially looks nice when lit up at night. These were taken before sundown. Unfortunately the skies were grey this day.

Hi Lee, this is at the entrance to Estella Mountain Ranch in Goodyear. It was just built last year.

I like the second one very much Judy. Would love to see it lit up . That must be so impressive to see.

I like them both equally well for they each have a wonderful appeal to me! I love the details in that first shot, the structure, the intricate brick work and the Dark Ages feel it gives me!

that second shots just lets it sit in its environment and is part of that and it belongs! It challenges you to differ with it!! I love it!!

You just keep impressing me with your insight and spirit Judy! I guess its that Red hair!! Seriously, you are a very creative person with a attention to details that others walk past or don't highlight in a natural way if that makes sense to you! you just do it naturally. It makes me stop and look and say, "Ya, that's wonderful! I like the way she has incorporated that in this or that angle!" "Ya, having that rock or cactus there just makes this shot that much stronger!" "YOU GO GIRL!!"

Hi Judy - I'm liking that first pic a lot,,,,,,but hey, you get dull skies in Arizona too......whoah, I thought that was a UK thing....LOL

I think you have controlled the picture well in a difficult lighting situation, well done!

Judy,
These are lovely. I was surprised when you mentioned that the construction was so recent, it has almost an ancient feel to it. I have to agree with others and hope you have the chance to shoot it at night as well.
Cheers,
Colby
