Default Vredespaleis

Color version of an image I posted in the B&W forum.

C&C most welcome:

In case you're wondering, Fredespaleis is Dutch for Peace Palace (home of the International Court of Justice and Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague).

Regards,

Peter

Peter,
Great photo, but the B/W version has a more dramatic/regal impression for me.

Between () the proper way of writing is Vredespaleis.

Yeah, sometimes I forget what I'm doing. Part English from the phonetics and part Dutch spelling. Didn't even cross my mind that I'd done that.

Fixed.

Peter

Nice shot! Just a tiny bit of barrel distortion though.

Funny you should say that. There's a tower of smaller size on the back that looks about right.

When the building was first designed after the first Hague Conference, a much larger building was originally planned (and this one is huge). The designer scaled the design back, but some of the original design seems to have been kept and the tower looks significantly bigger than the rest of the building.

Regards,

Peter

Very interesting building. even with the extra tall tower it still has allot of appeal.
