the compression seems to have done strange artifacts though

Yes it has. When the original is 16 mb and I tried to make it smaller to fit this site it became terrible. I tried to save for web in Photoshop and that is better. Another thing is also my english language. Candid is something else what I tried to say. Sweets or candy is what the children want when they ring the bell.
