Ha, Gotcha looking!! Sorry, I was just having a little fun with ya on this one too! These are the newest additions to my collection of Flutes. Two go to laycey, One to our Son Ryan, one I am keeping so I have something to play
.These were fun to build but even more fun to play!! Sorry the lighting is so Yellow on these. I was using a ISO of 800 with no other lighting except what is in the RV and unfortunately, it has a very yellow tinge! I did try to correct in PSP but couldn't get it right. If there are some suggestions or if someone wants to give it a shot, please have at it!!!!! ![]() PS: The flute with the angle cuts is the one I am keeping. Has a great sound!! __________________

Hint: you should be able to use bounce flash in that trailer and the colors will be much better.
This was a booger! It's really orange. I did what I could, but that's a lot of color cast to overcome and a lot of the "correct" colors are lost. What I did (using X2) was to go to the Film & Filters, choose the Cooling filter and set it to 30%. That got rid of a lot of the orange. Next I did the Smart Photo Fix twice, make sure the Advanced Options is checked, and clicked on the white blinds (weird- pink on one end and green in the middle) or the white parts of the flutes each time. (You'll also need to adjust the brightness each time). Basically just kept clicking on the white parts till it looked better. Hey, I tried! ![]() |

Ken, Have you tried some of the daylight compact flourescents? I found some that are 5500K and they seem to work fairly well.

Thanks for the heads up! Right now we have to be careful of expendatures with the Holidays and things like Food, Heat, elect. etc. We live on my retirement pay so we have to be careful.I keep looking for yard sales and on the local websites for free stuff. Now that winter is setting in, looks like I hve to wait till Spring unless I get lucky. Heck, maybe I could trade a flute for a good lens or some lights that pack away easly! Hummmmmmmm! An idea anyway. ![]() Have a great Holiday Season from us to yours!!!! Dakota |

Hey Dakota, Beautiful flutes!!, Used to make them myself when I was younger, we used bambo and burned all the holes with a red hot rod.
had to try my hand it fixing the color cast, so here's my rendition. Used PS3, adjusted hue/sat in yellow channel twice and then some minor ajustments in contrast and levels. |

Ken, absolutely beautiful work as usual ! I can attest to the beauty and sound of these beautiful flutes. Lou treasures the one you made for him but he can't produce the sounds you do. We'll have to try a trio with you, Lacey and Lou around the campfire next summer and I'll be the photographer

This would have been a perfect time to learn to use RAW. Your camera came packaged with conversion software (DPP) which can adjust color balance quite well and transfer the image to PSP or anything else so you can finish it up anyway you please. Is it worth the extra step? Without question, yes.
The bounce flash suggestion was also good here. We are all being encouraged to switch our lamps to the compact fluorescents anyway. It may not be too long until orange incandescents are only a memory. |

Hi Every One!!
How do you thank people like you all? I appreciate all the help on this one. My flutes are kinda important to me and you guys helping me make them look more like themselves was really nice!! Thanks!! Yes, I need to get a flash that I can turn or aim and adjust! Also, I will look into the Sun Light Spectrum lights for the RV. It gets interesting here because some of the lights are 12 volt lights that work with Car type battries the RV uses when camping in the Rough (No Amenities) and others are the normal 120 Volt AC lights for a normal house. These work from a Power cord plugged into the RV and a 50 amp source. Or, via a converter. Will have to do the research! Again, THANK YOU EVERYONE! Have a Blessed Holiday Season and we wish all of you and your familes everything good! Dakota and Laycey |

Nice work Ken the last photo was done well.
but do each flute have it's own Personality meaning sound wise? harsh, sweet, smooth , or it all based on the user skills? Just curious as the last time I used a flute in my Elementry days. (Whoa that was many moons ago) Ps sometime you can adjust your WB on the camera. if you were using let say flourecent light the camera has a setting for that setting. but its not always perfect. but pretty close. Take care now. |
