I was fooling around with the panorama I created that is shown in this thread,
http://www.photocamel.com/index.php/topic,2301.0.html and created the following Globe Panorama: ![]() Here is a larger version of it (189K): http://www.sitnprettyphoto.com/displ...roundlarge.jpg That is Crown Point sitting on the cliff at the bottem. Mike __________________

I guess this is too radical even for the "All Other Types" forum. Either that or those that have viewed can't make out what it is inside the globe. In any event, thanks to those that took the time to look. I'll try not to create something so radically different next time. ![]() Mike |

I seem to never see 1/2 of all the threads out there because by the time I get to some them they've been there for a day or two, like this one.
I think there could be some call for images like this. It gives it a sort of mystical quality...I don't know, like something you might have in a roll playing game or something like that though I'm sure there would be other venues. I would like it better if you couldn't see where you did the final "stitch" there at 10:00. I'm wondering if it also wouldn't look better with more interest in the outside frame of the circle. That is just so much blank white space. Maybe put little snippets of the picture at different times of day and have an interesting background to hold it all together? Sara |

Thanks Sara. Someone else on another forum made a comment about putting a star field in black as the background. I did another one and tried black, gray and blue and none of them really worked with the globe. I'm sure there is a combination that would work, but I'm not very color coordinated when it comes to stuff like that. But I keep trying.
I also agree about the two ends. Had I known when I took the 11 shots that I was going to do something like this, I would have found another image to either begin the series with or end it with. I tried blending it, but it just came out looking smuged. I'm considering several other panoramas that I think will work with this better for a seamless fit. Thanks Henry. Kevin, thanks. And I'd love to see others do stuff like this. Especially the really talented ones that can take an idea and really come out with something great. Someone with better Painter or Photoshop skills might have been able to do something with the area where the two ends meet. This was done in Painter IX using the Pattern Pen and Stroke feature to paint the image around a circle. It's neat to watch although I had to play with the pen size to keep it from overlapping or repeating too much. Thanks for the comments. I was wondering if anyone was going to say anything. Mike |

Thanks DC. I'm going to give the background some more thought and try out a few different ones to see if I can come up with something better suited.

Just found this one...very unique indeed, Mike! I think it's great to push that creativity and share it - helps us all to consider things in a new perspective!

Thanks Bauerman and Elaine. I'm on the look out for other panoramas that I can do this with. I also have some other "tricks" that I saw and want to try out too. I like trying out different things like this, even if I'm not the first to think of them.
Thanks for looking and the comments. Mike |

It looks very nice . Maybe if you do a mirror image of the panorama and then stitch it together there won't be any easily -definable stitch areas ...
