I think it looks better as an abstract with about the bottom 3rd'ish cropped off. For me it disrupts the neat patterns of the top portion. I like the patterns and color. what flower is it? well done!

That pulls my eye in too much and it is not that interesting.

I was going to say this too... I agree with Athena. The bottom part does help to drive home the idea of flames, but when I look at it without the bottom part it has a lot more impact...
