Here is the church at night, with 8 second exposures.
![]() The light on the top left is the street light, the green lights in the middle are traffic lights. The red streaks are brake lights from a passing car. ![]() And here is the scene when I turned around to walk home, also an 8 second exposure. ![]() Later, fireworks in the distance could be seen from my window. I caught them with an 8 second exposure. ![]() I really like the effect of the lights ![]() Cheers, Craig __________________

Ok, I do like some of the lights too. I don't feel very captivated by the composition tho, nor do I really feel a story coming up. The first one has sort of a road movie feeling.

Well with a lot of hits and no comments for a while, I drew the conclusion that they were not good pictures... when viewed through the eyes of real photographers.
Myself, I am new to photography and I had a *blast* taking those pictures! Once I discovered I could leave my lens open for 8 seconds and take pictures in the dark I was in awe. It was like night vision ![]() My gunsmith and my niece also loved the pics, neither of them are photographers. I am still learning what is good and what is child's play, I'll eventually get it. Thank you for your honest C&C. I have added to the set, maybe it will help. Cheers, Craig |

Don't take my comment as a measure of what is good and what is bad. It's my personal taste and preference, nothing more. Someone else might just fall in love with those shots. All I can do is to think about what I like or don't like, and share that with you. Your part is to think about my perception... not take it as a absolute scale.
Good is, what you think is good. The only time when the "good" of others is important is, if you want to sell your shots. ![]() E.g. put those shots into context... make a story, collect frames of this story, and I might perceive the shots totally different. The might become "good" just by changing the context, not the shots themself. The best learning effect might be, if you think about WHY you like them. I learned a lot by thinking about why I don't like them very much. And learning is what will lead us both to "better" shots. keep shooting and enjoy! cheers ® __________________
