I hate to burst your bubble, zemlin, but burned DVDs (as opposed to pressed DVDs) are only suitable for medium term storage.
Burned DVDs will become unreadable after about 5 years because the burning starts an osmosis process that degrades the aluminium layer, eventually beyond recognition/readability.

I.o.w. DVDs are unsuitable for long term storage. If you rely on them for backup you will get a very nasty surprise.
