Re: Work Flow Software.
Well I can now chime in for Aperture vs LR and for me LR wins hands down. I've been playing with Ap for about 4 days now and I'm not sure if the OS or the software but it's just very easy to do anything past the basics. Everything requires a click and a move or something, in LR I can wiz though 500 images (typical game) in about 25 minutes, I tried it with my last batch in Ap. and it took me over an hour to get through.
All I do is rate the image, completely OOF images or mis-fires get tagged for deletion, some WB adjustment, straightening the horizon, and some cropping if a specific size is needed. Oh I keyword, but its usually the massive not the individual keywording, I usually go back when I get a chance and individually tag images with players names, scores, etc.
To me, LR's power is the ease of use, fast easy navigation, easy import and export of keywords, keyword lists. The smart filter is absolutely great. The major bonus for LR for me has been that it reduced the need to go to photoshop for the minor/average edits. I can do them in LR with a non-destructive history that can be easily undone. The Virtual-Copy and multiple images from the same image is also fantastic and come is a lot more than you would think. I highly recommend LR.
