Nothing special to do when installing, it will install itself into default folders. Just click ok when it prompts you as to where it is installing to.

As far as what to buy and learning as you go, I would read up on everything I could first. Ive learned not to trust everything a salesman tells me. Intel Q9550 in a quad core processor. Think of it as having 4 processors in one. You don't have to have that particular processor to run Photoshop though.

I cant be too much help right now as I am limited on time, so I will only offer the generic advice of just buying the best that you can afford. Getting one with vista 64 installed should utilize a "little more" of that 4 gig of ram than Vista 32 will and CS3 will work fine on it.

Decide what you will be doing with the laptop first. Just email, some Photoshop, gaming? Remember, you don't need a high end gaming machine to run Photoshop with. I hope this tiny bit of info helps, good luck.
