I looked at it last year and said the same thing. Way too much money.

I guess they changed how they do things. You can get it for about $10 a month if you commit to a year, or get it month by month for $17(with one of the numerous discount codes out there). I subscribed for one month because I know this won't be an on-going thing for me, but I wanted to play around with it.

I've done about six of these and I'm already almost over it.

That Plotagraph is a cool bit of software Mike.
I may have to give it a go.

Week #51, Mike’s 2017 Project 52 - “Wind blown Tanana River…”

Fairbanks does not usually get a lot of wind in the winter, thank goodness. But recently we have gone through a bit of a windy phase. This week’s shot is from out on the Tanana River at about 4:00pm, with winds gusting to 35 or 40 mph. It’s a mesmerizing sight to have what seems like a living overlay of wispy snow moving about. The photo doesn't do it justice. I was in a bit of a hurry so I missed what was a much more dramatic sunset a short time later.

Canon 5DIII, Canon 16-35mm, 1/80 sec, f/22, iso 100, 3 exposures +/- 2 stops, Lightroom, Photomatix.

Final photo for "Mike’s 2017 Project 52"

Week #52, Mike’s 2017 Project 52 - “The lady returns…”

I’m not sure the aurora ever went away, but a long stint of cloudy night skies and low aurora activity sure made it seem like she had deserted us for a while. It’s been over a month since I have gone out chasing the aurora, usually a weekly occurrence this time of year. This is the final photo of my 2017 Project 52 and I am glad I can end with a pano shot of the aurora.

Canon 5DIII, Canon 16-35mm, 7.5sec, f/2.8, iso 1600, 4 exposure pano, Lightroom.

Mike, that is a great "Week 52" shot. I don't think I have ever seen them like that.
