Default Re: Trying to find a table

I have a suggestion from all my years being a traveling photographer, I use to work for Olan Mills.
I have tried many ways of transporting my equipment. Large cases, carts, & many other things in 23yrs of traveling.

For your safety & your back I would strongly suggest against a cabinet as it may sound efficient & handy, think about all the steps you will have to drag it up & the possible bulk of the equipment within. By the time you get a table with a cabinet that is sturdy enough & safe it will most likely become heavy enough on its own with no equipment that steps will become difficult.

In my past I found that sometimes while more trips can be less efficient & gets old. The health of your back & safety of the child is worth those trips. In 23yrs I never once had a kid fall from either a table or a baby poser. Also never hurt myself, while I think there was a certain amount of luck there, I know many, whom have had both happen. I have many old friends that have in the name of less trips especially up or down steps ended up with back surgery, or knee surgery.

If you find such a piece of equipment I would be very interested, as would Olan, & any other company who has traveling photogs. in the 23yrs the only thing I found to cut my trips down & keep my back healthy was a sturdy cart from Kart-a-Bag they will hold up to 300lbs, & are very compact when folded. They also unlike most folding carts have skids on the back for stairs. Still for to many steps not a good idea to over load.

Good Luck Mitch
