This is a moot point since he bought a Nikon, but it might help others. The Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 is an EF mount, not EF-S, so it WILL work on a 10D. The image circle IS smaller than full frame, so even though it will mount to a full frame camera, the image won't expose the entire sensor.
